Morristown Trap Club History

The Morristown Trap Club is located just off Highway 25E adjacent to Cherokee Park in Morristown, Tennessee.  The club was formed in 1952 offering skeet shooting only.  In 1957 local businessman Dick Morrison put the first trap machine on the property.  Four years later the Manley Gun Club built the second field and the club building that still serves as the office and meeting place.  As the club expanded and interest in trapshooting grew, additional fields were needed.  In 1983 George Meade, Tim Bible, Dick Morrison and other club members built two more fields.  The four fields have been upgraded with lighting.  Morristown Trap Club is open three days a week—Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for public trapshooting.  The club provides facilities and assistance for several other organizations in the community.
